Things you always wanted to do, but didn't: Skydiving

Go on an African safari and still hoping to do so.

Be a foster parent but it just never worked into our schedule.
Things you're still thinking of doing: More world traveling as well as visit stated I've still not been to out west.
Funny or interesting story about travel: When living in Germany we traveled by train because we could go so many places for a flat fee during a specific time period. We got off the train in Holland, Amsterdam and my husband left me 5 months pregnant standing with the luggage while he scouted the area for a hotel. A man approached me and assumed correctly that we were Americans in the military and said he and his wife ran a bed and breakfast in their home and we were welcome to stay with them. We did and had a lovely experience as they only took in one couple at a time and we got to sit in their living room with them and two young daughters in the evening and watch TV and chat with them.
Things you remember most about your years at LHS: Being allowed to be in our Senior Class Play was a fun highlight of high school since I wasn't allowed to do much else. I also had fun working on the Tattler Business Staff and will always remember that as another highlight. I wasn't allowed to go to parties, school dances, or even barely date so most classmates thought I was stuck up. I was painfully shy and had very low self esteem but wanted desperately to go to college so knew I had to work hard for scholarships as we didn't have the money for me to go any other way. Pretty much boys only talked to me if they wanted help with their homework and I had a very small circle of friends but a lot of acquaintances depending on who I had classes with. I loved being in choir although with my deafness struggled to stay on pitch but Karen Ege was always there to help me with that since she knew how hard I tried and have a love for singing even to this day.
Obstacles you've overcome since high school: I've finally learned to value my worth as a unique person. I still struggle with self esteem but get on stage and perform and shine. I still do better with small groups than big crowds but have learned how to make myself get out there and stand up for myself.
Shout out to someone/something that was a positive force in your life: Anyone who was a true friend to me was treasured by me and I'm thankful for FB for helping me find many of them again. I loved being encouraged by Mr. Cornelius to like history as it's a subject I used to dislike and appreciated Mr. Priutt helping me with my self esteem. I feel he was a teacher who truly saw me as me and not just a shadow of my older straight A sister.
Any other comments you'd like to share?: Thank you to those of you who have reached out to me to encourage me to attend as I really don't like big crowds and find reunions a bit overwhelming.
