David L. Emmons, Logansport, died at 8 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, in St. Vincent Heart Center of Indianapolis.



Born July 3, 1953, in Greenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late John E. Emmons and Juanita Watson Emmons. He was married July 17, 1971, in Logansport, to Janice Piercy, who survives.



A 1971 graduate of Logansport High School, David worked for Logansport Auto Tech Auto Parts in outside sales. He attended Yorktown Road Church of Christ.



David was a NASCAR fan, especially when it came to Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed all sports but baseball was his favorite.



Surviving with his wife and mother are two sons, David Emmons Jr. and Dustin Emmons, both of Logansport; three sisters, Diane and Denny Johnson, LaGrange, Shirley J. and Ron Kuzmaul, Camden, and Sharon and Jerry Widner, Winamac; brother, George Emmons, Logansport; four grandchildren, Veronica Emmons, Louisville, Ky., Brooke and Bailey Weaver, Royal Center, and Jarryd Woodruff, Logansport; his mother-in-law, Donna Grandstaff Piercy, Logansport; sisters-in-law, Susan and John L. Carlson, Port Clinton, Ohio, and Sheila Piercy, Logansport; aunts and uncles, Carolyn Fultz, Mary Jane and Robert Powell, and Tom and Juanita Watson, all of Logansport, Dwight Emmons, Greenville, Ohio, and Mary Jane Wittaker, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his father, John Emmons; one son, Travis Wayne Emmons; one brother, John Paul Emmons; and his father-in-law, Estal Wayne Piercy.
