Toby L. Hoffman, Rochester, formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 3:47 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.. He was born on July 3, 1953, in Logansport, to James and Dianne (DeGref) Hoffman.. Toby was a 1971 Logansport High School graduate and a graduate of Indiana Mortuary College. He was a funeral director and was the former owner of Hoffman-Murray Funeral Home, Kokomo. Toby was a member of the Rochester Elks Club and Tipton Masonic Lodge.. Survivors include his mother and father, Jim and Dianne Hoffman, Logansport.. He was preceded in death by his grandparents..
It was always so fun to have Toby in our midst at our First United Methodist church youth gatherings. I don't remember ever seeing him without a smile and eagerness to be in, really, any group. I wonder if he ever saw a stranger! He was a good person to have around for us introverts!
