Stephen "Steve" Zane Sterrett, Royal Center, passed away at 11 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at his residence. Born July 13, 1953 in Logansport, he was the son of Zane L. and Joann J. Murray Sterrett.. Steve was employed as a clerk by the west side D & J Liquor Store. Steve loved many things - people and animals, reading and history, listening and playing music, but he was never happier than outside next to a fire, guitar in hand, surrounded by friends and family. Survivors include his companion, Brandi Jones, Logansport; son, Miles (Melissa) Sterrett, Indianapolis; two daughters, Abbey (Sean) Murphy, Lafayette, and Jaime (Ethan) Tribbett, Muncie; mother, Joann Sterrett, Logansport; ex-wife, Pamela Sterrett, Logansport; two sisters, Deb J. (Grant) Putnam and Michelle Edwards, both of Logansport; brother-in-law, Britt Edwards, Logansport; two grandchildren, Aaden Murphy and Zane C. Sterrett; aunt and uncle, Robert and Helen Mendenhall, Logansport; uncle, Richard L. Murray, Logansport; aunt, Alyce Murray, Logansport; several nieces and nephews; and two additional grandchildren expected this year, one in June, and another in November. He was preceded in death by his father, Zane L. Sterrett; and one nephew, Tyler Edwards.
